[cma-l] Advert scheduling

Dear All

If and when we receive some national advertising would it not be a good suggestion/idea to have all the National advertising coming out of the News and/or those who don’t have News every hour have them at the top of the hour or thereabouts ?

I know some Stations struggle with the reporting. We had issues last time and I have to admit what we have is still a bit adhoc.

Technically we’re still owed £150 quid from the last campaign 2 – 3 years ago as we were never paid. We were never paid owing to the fact our reporting scheduler/system had gone up the swanee creek ! I am however very confident that we played more Ads and rotations of that advert than all other 269 Stations.

We hammered it once and twice an hour and continued for a month even after end date. We’re actually very nice people up here in North East Cheshire LOL

I suppose the moral of the story is get your reporting sorted.

The other side of the argument of course is very similar to the chap or lady who rings you up and says ‘’I’ve been listening to the Radio Station and I have not heard my advert’’ nine times out of ten you will find they have been listening in the Car for only 15 minutes ????? I always say to them that it is being played to which they reply again ‘’well I ain’t heard it?’’ you know what the next reply from moi is ?

Of what advantage is it to me/us to not play your advert ?? if we get no response or the response is poor when we ask for continued support next year you say ‘’not a cat in hells chance’’ so it is of no advantage to us at all.

All I would say is if (and it is a big if) we have one or two in our fraternity who do try and pull fast ones, can I remind them that they are letting everyone else down and that in the end it will come back and bite them/us on the backside.

I think we have an opportunity here for a steady consistent flow of funding that pays your rent and tea and biscuits ….. so good luck to Bill and his team.

Onwards and Upwards

Lord Dumpty

Hi Bill, hi Nigel,

This is really interesting to know.

Radio Response are currently serving banner and display ads using ad butler - see www.expressfm.com <http://www.expressfm.com> and www.zone1radio.com <http://www.zone1radio.com>

(Bear with us everyone who's asked for codes. Jon is, as I speak, indiviudally copying and pasting 84 bits of unique code into unique emails for each of you)

We can actually give you a free log in so you can manage your own ads using our system. Stats are awesome.

We really want to be able to build a system for the sector that can schedule on-air ads in the same way.

As you may have heard me say at various sector meetings...

"If Coca Cola came to me with £250,000 and asked me to get a campaign across the community sector next week, I would have to turn it down.

"I would have to make 250 individual phone calls, and if the phone got answered at all, quite a few answers would be "Nah mate. Scheduling guy comes in Wedenesdays"

And as for managing the invoicing and campaign reporting back to the clients/agencies.....

We're working on it, I promise, but bear with us!

Hi Bill

We use the same.

Not perfect, sometimes put five ads in one break and leaves others empty.

Works well enough though.

What are people using for adverts scheduling? We are currently using Myraid, with Myriad Ad Scheduler.
