We don't allow minors to be in the station without a responsible adult present.
With the more responsible and trained/experienced 15+ year old they may not have some on hand supervising their technical ops or output, , but there is always an adult present basically as safety cover should anything happen like a first aid accident, argument, fire or plumbing emergency.
I haven't checked recently, but I don't think Ofcom permits under-15s to be responsible for output (ie they must be production supervised, not just safeguarded).

Does anyone else have under 18s on their station and if so how do you go about managing them as minors? Do they broadcast live? Are they supervised? The reason I ask is we're looking to open our doors to under 18s on a more permanent basis.
We currently offer something called The Youth Academy (www.theyouthacademy.org.uk) - I spoke to few of you about this in Melton Mowbray - and at present the main progression route after completing our workshops/course is being able to present on a regular youth-led show, however now I'm looking to increase the scope and cater to young people who want to get more involved more often.
Not to mention a chance to address the 100s of emails I get every year from young people looking for work experience.
Any guidance is very welcome!
