[comradio-l] Ofcom awards new community radio licence in Essex

Ofcom has announced the award of one new community radio licence to
SAFE Radio, in Grays, Essex.

Details of the new community radio station are as follows:

SAFE Radio

SAFE Radio will be a music-based station for young people in Grays and
surrounding areas of Thurrock. The service aims to unite young people
from different backgrounds and give them a platform to air their views
and promote understanding, tolerance and respect. The radio station
will be operated by young people who will be given the opportunity to
be trained in radio presentation techniques.

A statement setting out the main determining factors for the award of
the community radio licence to SAFE Radio will be published in the
radio licensing section of Ofcoms April Communications Monthly Update.
