Although we were turned down, this the response received, when we applied then, as a community radio project. If that could be of any help.

"Trading for the benefit of the local community – Your application did not evidence how Power to Change funding could enable your organisation to become more viable in the long-term.

However, you did provide strong evidence your organisation meets the following criteria:
Locally rooted – Your application evidenced that the project has a clearly defined local geographical area of focus (for example, in urban locations this could be a neighbourhood, ward or section of a city, in rural locations this could be a village or collection of villages). Accountable to the local community – Your application strongly evidenced the formal structures in place for your organisation to engage with a large number of local people on a frequent and ongoing basis and how you use those structures. Broad community impact – Your application evidenced how your project would tackle disadvantage within your community".

this. again.

Community radio
Despite receiving a lot of applications from community media organisations, we have not yet funded a community radio station. This is partly because community radio stations find it hard to demonstrate they are locally rooted, as they cover a broad geographical area like a whole city, rather than a neighbourhood. Applications from community media organisations have often struggled to provide strong evidence of how they benefit the wider community.
