[cma-l] Community Radio Awards

Good afternoon

The .co.uk awards are not the CMA Chair's awards - Martin Steers is not the
CMA Chair. I understand that the .co.uk awards were established to be
deliberately separate to the CMA for reasons of openness and transparency. The
.co.uk awards have been established as an independent not-for-profit
company limited by guarantee (No.10098735).

Both awards have been open to all the sector and so could be said to
represent the whole sector - no station that has wanted, or could afford,
to apply to both awards has been completely free to do so.

Both awards are external to the CMA so it would not be appropriate to
discuss the organisation of two external awards events at the Community
Media Conference.

Best regards

Bill
