Martin Sugden, Volunteer Training Manager, states; “Our Evolve training
project at Penistone FM aims to make community radio more accessible to
local people and give new communication skills or interests to rural
isolated villages. We want to be able to offer local people the same
chances to learn new skills, enjoy a fun social activity and make new
friends. If we win, the money will be used to provide more training,
practical work experience and taster sessions to local people and any young
people wanting to gain experience in the media industry or other job. We
will also be able to provide new equipment to capture people’s views in the
heart of the community to ensure their voice is heard”.
