Number one <> correct
Number two <> correct
Number three <> We signed the contract but clearly stated that we dont
agree with it and that it was being signed in order to get the Monkeeee off
the back and for no other reason. If they dont agree with OUR contract,
then why do they keep taking the money out of our account ? ooops I
forgot
were moving the goalposts around again.
So actually in Canalsides case, they agree with us, not us agreeing with
them. The big guru in the Ivory Towers knows my feelings, because Ive told
him.
Like I say
at least PRS have got half a brain
.. they got fed up of
dealing with me, took the money and ran .. good on them I say. PPL
. Now
they are a different cookie
. They have defo lost the plot. You know you
are banging your head against a brick wall when they dont even understand
their own rules and cant grasp the meaning of the word NET in
relation to not-for-profit groups
basically it means = 0 zero
they dont understand that. Even the guy at the top, the Organ Grinder
doesnt get it ?? so the monkeys have got no chance :-)
By the way, before anyone says anything, yes I am disrespectful, extremely
disrespectful because I am sick of this sector being treated like dirt,
being bullied, ignored, hung out to dry
. You earn respect, and all the
folk who have made a complete horlicks of it all dont deserve any.
One final thing, I was watching the proceedings re:- the licences a few
weeks ago ----- everyone standing up bowing and cow towing saying how proud
they are to serve under the Chairmanships
.. how many Chairpeople have we
had since 2002 ? most of them a complete waste of space sucking up to the
Commercial sector, whilst weve still got some Community Radio Stations on
full restrictions !
..
My respect went out the window a long time ago, but you knew that anyway.
Onwards and Upwards
Mr 56 year old Hamster is now back on his wheel

I agree Paul - I'd suggest that we are doing them and their artists a favour
at our own expense.
Problem is that we haven't been strong and united as a sector to challenge
the issue.
Now that they've strong-armed most of us into new contracts with the threat
of using their considerable wealth to beat us up in court, we're clearly on
the back foot.
I'm sure there's a fair percentage of the sector that would be willing to
take it on though?

I've completed the form but my questions are:
1. Why do fees rise above the rate of inflation every year?
2. About 20 years ago I seem to remember PRS or PPL (or both) would waive
their fee for genuine not-for-profit stations undertaking RSL broadcasts.
Why can't PRS and PPL do the same today for the community radio sector? The
amount of money raised is negligible. Based on information in the public
domain, I estimate that the whole of the UK's community radio sector
contributes 0.02% of PRS's total income.
[Approx £175k from community radio against a staggering £623m which was
PRS's income in 2009 according to Wikipedia]
I'm sure lots of other people will ask the same, and I doubt I'll get much
joy but I think it's worth a punt from all of us.
