This is an open invitation, for all who care about the digital future of Community Radio, to come to a special FREE Radio Academy event – 'Doing the DAB' – being held in Manchester on Thursday 8 December.

The event is taking place at 6pm in the Texture Bar in central Manchester and features a host of leading Manchester radio figures from BBC Radio Manchester, commercial radio and community radio who will share  their hopes, fears and vision of radio’s digital future as well as their views on radio’s standing in Manchester.

The event will be hosted by Radio Academy Manchester and Gaydio Chairman, John Ryan, and speakers include BBC Radio Manchester Editor, Kate Squire, and presenter, Mike Shaft; Chris Country founder, Chris Stevens; Niocast Managing Director, David Duffy; Julian Guest of Unity Radio; and Digital Radio UK CEO, Ford Ennals. 

Speakers will discuss:
   
   - The benefits and future of digital radio. 
   - What will happen in the next chapter in the digital radio story
   - How are audiences listening
   - What are broadcasters doing to get the most out of digital
