Hi Terry,

We're nearly at the end of our crowdfunding campaign with Indiegogo -
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/save-reprezent-radio-sound-of-young-london#home

Have a look at the site, we offered a good range of perks (down the right
hand side). There are a few important tips to follow if you're going to
launch one:

   - Make sure you have at least 25% of the target committed and showing on
the site when you start - 97% of campaigns fail to reach their target if
they don't do this. It's a lot of prep work in the background!
   - It's a hard balance not to look desperate - though there needs to be
enough of an emotional angle for people to make the effort
   - Create a decent film to explain - there are a few up there it's hard
to know what they're actually asking for
   - Try not to clash (as much as possible) with other big appeals - Comic
Relief, Children in Need, humanitarian fundraisers
   - Keep momentum throughout the campaign - a new story/ update every few
days, so it's not one big push then stagnation
   - Get mainstream press/ TV on board if possible
   - There are lots of Crowdfunding sites - we chose Indiegogo because of
the 'flexible funding' option, meaning that you get the money even if you
   don't reach the target
   - Set a realistic target - even with Indiegogo, if you reach your target
they take 4% commission - if you don't it's 9%, which could be quite a lot
   in the end!
   - Stick to your perk commitments afterwards

A couple of our press profile pieces:

Happy to look over anything if you want to send the plan to me before you
go for it.

best, Shane
