[cma-l] Crowd funding

We¹ve covered crowd funding a few times on Let¹s Talk Business. Put¹ Crowd
Funding¹ into the search box on http://www.letstalkbusinessonline.com

Some common denominators regardless of the project and platform;
1. You¹ll need to mobilise (local) interest in your project way before you
launch.
2. There is no chance of succeeding without a social media campaign.
3. A video is pretty much essential.
4. Think about a phased approach to funding.
5. The nearer to completion your project is before funding the better your
chance of getting the money.
6. Don¹t underestimate the cost of reward fulfilment.
7. Some people will invest just for the hell of it.
Hope that helps.

Kind Regards
Alan

Hi Terry

We are just planning a campaign together at the moment for funds. Found
local film-makers. Planning the incentives. Will keep you in touch.

Hi,

Has anyone used crowd funding in the past either to raise cash for their
station generally or for a specific project within the station... or used it
to raise pre-launch cash?

If you used crowd funding;

What kind of things did you give back to funders?
What kind of projects did you fund?

Regards

Terry Doyle
