[cma-l] Local, National News and Traffic Updates Request

Hi Mohammed,

As someone else mentioned - IRN news (delivered by satellite, just use and
old Sky satellite box) is only £250 or so per annum and excellent. Also
there is FSN (delivered by internet) which I think is cheaper, but the
presentation style is not quite so good, and the news a little USA heavy.

Local bulletins - maybe instead of people having to come into the studio it
might be possible to do remotely with a portable recorder like Zoom H4N?
If the audio file is properly topped and tailed and named the same thing
eveytime, and uploaded to somewhere on your server, the playout system
could automatically play the latest version. And perhaps for some
volunteers it is easier to do from the comfort of their own home than
trecking into the studio? It would take some time and care to setup the
process, but could be a winner over the medium to long term. Just a
thought.
