<div>As someone else mentioned - IRN news (delivered by satellite, just use and old Sky satellite box) is only £250 or so per annum and excellent. Also there is FSN (delivered by internet) which I think is cheaper, but the presentation style is not quite so good, and the news a little USA heavy.</div>

<div>Local bulletins - maybe instead of people having to come into the studio it might be possible to do remotely with a portable recorder like Zoom H4N? If the audio file is properly topped and tailed and named the same thing eveytime, and uploaded to somewhere on your server, the playout system could automatically play the latest version. And perhaps for some volunteers it is easier to do from the comfort of their own home than trecking into the studio? It would take some time and care to setup the process, but could be a winner over the medium to long term. Just a thought.</div>

<p class="MsoNormal">Currently we record the news first thing in the morning and then repeat once during the afternoon and then once in the evening. Only problem with this is that the news is not updated and hence sometimes not offering the best service that we could.<u></u><u></u></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We don’t have regular volunteers to come in and do the news daily, hence we only are able to the above during the week.<u></u><u></u></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I have tried to contact the local BBC radio station for advice and (basically) their news feed – but I have been told this is something that they want to do but if and when they decide to do this (And god knows when that will be!!), it will be a national incentive and not just a local arrangement.<u></u><u></u></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Is there any advice on where I can get local, national news and traffic, preferably every hour or if not then 3 or 4 updates per day are sufficient.<u></u><u></u></p>
