Would you like to be part of the next generation of radio presenters?

The BBC Academy’s College of Journalism <http://www.bbc.co.uk/academy>, in
conjunction with BBC Local Radio, is holding a series of awareness days for
women who are interested in presenting on BBC local radio in England.

   - Do you enjoy meeting and talking to people from different walks of
   life?
   - Are you interested in what’s going on in the world around you?
   - Have you got something to say about where you live?

The BBC is interested in hearing from women of all ages and backgrounds who
believe they could become part of BBC Local Radio’s future presentation
teams.

If you would like to be considered to attend the Midlands pilot event, and
you can be at *BBC Birmingham at The Mailbox in Birmingham* on *Friday 6
December 2013*, then the BBC wants to hear from you. (There will be further
events run in Salford in February and London in March).

The aim of this event is to help boost the number of women presenting on
BBC Radio.

In order to apply you must be:

   - A woman
   - Aged 18 or over
   - Live in the UK or Channel Islands
   - Not earning your main living as a paid presenter on any UK radio
   station.

Some spaces (around a third) are being reserved for those people who may
work for the BBC but in a non-broadcast capacity. If you do, you’ll need to
state this in your application.
Listen to the “Women in Radio” trail on our website and please publicise
this event using this jingle:
