Dear All

Have a quick read of this when you have five minutes .. Talk about
getting kicked from all sides !

I think it was Phil who pointed out about being positive .. if we weren't
''scratting around'' around for funding, pushing a huge rock up a hill and
against restrictions we may be able to create a bit of work for a few people
... each station taking on 3 people throughout the Country is employment for
approx' 600 - ish .. That's POSITIVE in my book, also, more bodies
around the studios and in the office means tasks completed, less chance of
live' programming not going out, more chance of forms being completed, less
chance of the Station Managers working 40 hour weeks for buttons plus
another 40 hours voluntary on top to keep the station on-air.

Hang on a mo''' I'll type some more the moment I've put back this match
stick back in my eyelids :-)

''that's better''

We continue

What we don't need are Politicians walking around in cloud cuckooland, Ofcom
engineers turning up pointing out that someone has gone off-air when they
(the station) already know they have gone off air and I can assure everyone
that apart from the odd instances the last thing any of our guys want to do
is to not fulfil our licence and commitments.

So I will SPELL IT OUT once again ..... Community Radio is an amazing thing,
a great idea, and a great opportunity = POSITIVE ... However, the nonsense
going on around its perimeter is a SHAMBLES and a disgrace.

Common sense WILL prevail, the righteous and the determined will win in the
end. No doubt the congregation of 'dipsticks' will try to claim the glory
when things do change, the problem is the rest of us know the truth.

We soldier on regardless.

By the way, we have a pre-record on this afternoon between 1:30 and 3:30
it is due to the fact that the person who we employed has been let go
because of the restrictions ... So, instead of 'going off-air' we repeat
Sunday evenings programme .... or listeners are fully aware that it is a
repeat, I reminded them 5 times this morning myself and they seem OK with
it. It is a pity as well that we actually have people who have got nothing
else better to do in their lives than complain about community radio .....
Most of these problems are in the hands of Mr Hunt and his Ministers,
trouble is, he's got a new Train set to play with <> TV .... oh and not
forgetting the Olympics.

Soldiering on indeed

Finally with reference to offensive language. I am aware that on our system
a few have slipped through the net .... The way our system is set up these
tracks would only go out early hours sat/sun morn .... 2pm ......... I saw a
TV programme last week midweek at about 10:30pm .. the language was
attrocious f.....s..and the like ..... I simply don't understand rules
to be honest.

Are you permitted to swear to high heaven on TV but you daren't do it on
radio ??? dunno' ? I'm not condoning it or defending it,
I'm simply asking the question.

Regards

Nick
