Dear All

Just a quick addition to my e-mail (yesterday) in order that there is no
confusion ...... the rules state ''no PAID on-air advertising'' .. You will
be aware that we don't agree with this, never have and never will .I
personally have been quite forthright and aggressive in my views on this,
and that will not change.. however, what we can do is completely 'by-pass
it' our view is now quite simple:- if people wish to behave in a
silly manner then we'll do the same. Let's all be silly seems to be the
order of the day :-)

We will run adverts for people, and as of November we will GIVE THEM AWAY
FREE ! (ready for Chrimbo) I actually think we should be commended
for this especially when only this morning we have more bad news for
businesses, the economy and the unemployed.

Because of the nonsense there may be another 5 part-time workers (from here)
joining the already two and a half million OR we can all be
sensible, positive and pro-active and actually create a few more jobs and
even give some nice little tickles for young people (of whom we have plenty)
as they are the ones getting the brunt of the current climate.

In a Court of Law, we will be able to prove our 'contract' with our
supporters / sponsors it will be the same as the contracts
that we have had since 2005 and they have not changed. They are in black and
white and I have enclosed a copy. The best Solicitor in the world would not
be able to make the rules seem tweaked .. as they have not been. Our
advertising tariffs 'off-air' remain exactly the same.

All on-air activity is NOT included as there are no agreements on this .....
This will be at our discretion.

This is not even a Bog-off deal .... The contract does not state
buy-one-get-one-free we will give it away free if we so desire.
The downside of this of course is that our fundraisers have to be able to
convince the potential sponsor that the existing deal (not ideal) is good
enough. We believe/know it is, as do many of our current supporters. If we
decide to give things away 'no strings attached' it will be Christmas
come early.

''Roll up, Roll up Ladies and Gentlemen, all the fun of the fair'' !

Currently, Supporters / Donors / Sponsors receive ADVERTISING via vehicles /
websites / flyers / leaflets / newspaper items and/or other related material
this is in BLACK & WHITE it will not change ----- in
addition to this which is NOT in black and white we ''MAY'' / ''MIGHT''
give a philanthropic thankyou or two for the kind donation to our
not-for-profit Community project. There is no undue prominence, there is no
legal agreement, but I would argue that good manners and politeness obliges
us to say thanks to the people who give us their hard earned cash.

I think we have reached the stage where the DCMS are not needed ...
Representations are exhausted, as are we ! and the arguments, discussions,
debates have become boring, tired and weiry. Actions speak louder than words
.... we built our project on actions, we built it by 'doing' and not
'talking' we are now going to DO !

If we choose to fiddle whilst Rome burns then that is our prerogative,
however, we'll be damned if someone is fiddling whilst we go up in smoke !
not on your nelly !

If the Government / DCMS wish to then 'have a go' as opposed to being
'sensible' then so be it. I will state once again that they must not be so
cock-sure that they will win. Aswell as the many trading laws that they have
broken, there is also the added problem of trying to prove that we are
actually receiving PAID ADVERTISING which we are not, so no laws
are being broken anyway.

As of November, our on-air advertising is free.

Mr Hunt and Mr Vaizey, please save us all the embarrassment (you both
included) and use your powers, skills, knowledge and positions to stop this
debacle. Let's take the easy route .. Please.

We shall be doing our bit as of 2 weeks time. We've basically had enough.

If any of the other 15 Stations in the Country (who are being shafted and
treated appallingly) wish to follow our lead then we would be eternally
grateful -------------- if not ----------- we'll go it alone.

It would also be nice if the CMA could get behind us aswell and stop all
this nicey nicey pussyfootying around.

Many thanks

Regards

Nick on behalf of ALL at CCR ............. whatever happens, keep smiling
chaps
