Ian

Thanks for the e-mail

.. I do actually agree with you, but find it hard
to button up. What is frustrating for me is that the way I come across in my
e-mails is not actually how I am in real life. I’m 51 next birthday and all
through my life I have been polite, caring, helpful, placid, chilled, calm
etc etc

.. this appears to have (hopefully temporarily) blown all of
them away

.. the reason being because it is a straightforward, basic
and simple injustice which now 6 years on has no foundation or proof which
backs up the reasons the restrictions were put there in the first place.

I simply don’t get it ?

I’m sticking two fingers up because I
believe certain people are likewise sticking them up at me.

But you are right

I appear to have taken leave of my senses and have
somehow lost control. Sorry to everyone really

 I will super dooper try
to butt out, read the messages and NOT respond. Better for all of us
actually

. me included.

Oh by the way, I was lay in bed yesterday morning thinking about my rant two
days ago. It was rude, it was personal and I should not have written it

the points were valid and I ain’t retracting them, but the rudeness towards
individuals was unnacceptable

please accept my sincere apologies. Thank
goodness we do live in a democracy, if we didn’t I would possibly have been
burned at the stake by now.

God bless everyone

.. even Rupert

Finally, another point sprang to mind

. You know the 50% rule ?!
and the volunteer time ?! well ----------------------
we’re having a rough time at the minute

.. our volunteer time appears to
have gone over the 50% due to one of our bigger sponsors pulling on us
temporarily

.. is this an issue or a problem (Mr Ofcom) ??
if it is a problem it turns a lower case debacle into an upper case/capital
DEBACLE.

Just a thought, that’s all.

Regards

Nick

Nick
Whilst I appreciate all your frustrations - and we all share most of them -
I have to say that all the ranting in the world isn't going to change
anything and in fact detracts from the credibility of our position in the
Industry.
You're stuck with a regulatory regime - you always will be in a civilised
democratic country - which may change in time, but this will only be with
the use of cool logical argument put to the right people.
I won't bother with trying to correct all the points you have written here
because I've said most of them before and it obviously hasn't sunk in.
Let's be positive and get the right information in front of the right
people.

Sorry guys, I forgot to mention

. Galaxy are now Capital in our area

. Smooth have changed formats 3 times and their name once. So to have
Century er Real

.. 2 stations in our area who whinge about the
150,000 rule are actually combined and joined at the hip to the tune of a
possible 350,000

and yet our restrictions are based on and due to these
clowns ! we get blown away by Ram 2 miles from our base, Key 103
come over the top of us near the football ground
(only 4 miles away)

..
the BBC hog all the frequences

. The community fund is pitance

..
and getting smaller. Pirates who continually break the law get awarded
licences and I’m supposed to be a happy bunny ?? everyone
seems to be doing what the hell they want and getting rewarded

.. we are
doing exactly what we wrote on the can from the outset and still after 5/6
years continue to get treated like crap !

I believe Canalside has a very good case even if no one on this message
board does

. And we won’t change our opinion untill this debacle is
looked into and sorted out.

The answer by the way is not the cowards way out either

. By getting
rid of the trouble causers and the boat rockers

    we are neither, we
are simply fighting our corner.

It can all be sorted with a nod and a pen

..

Could someone please answer me this question

.. all in all

 if ALL
the restrictions were lifted, would we seriously pose a threat to anyone ??
could we, are we capable?

I personally don’t think so, unless one our
gang knows something different ?

We just need enough money to deliver the promises and the projects, a touch
more power so’s not to interfere with other users and to remain
not-for-profit

. No share holders, no dividends, no bonuses
.. no one
milking it and the requirement to prove it

 what other restrictions do
we need ? none in my book.

Nick

Not entirely sure I'd agree with the assertion that the coalition government
was given a clear mandate to do anything....

It is a shame that a small panel of CR station reps couldn't have been
formed and let in for free or at a much reduced rate?

I wonder how many of the 207 cash-strapped CR stations will want to fork out
£265 for something in which they will have no say and will be able to read
about the next day?
