Tate Media, in partnership with Arts Council England and Tate
Connects, has opened the second round of submissions for film
development programme Art Shorts.

Art Shorts is open to visual arts organisations interested in using
film to explore their work. Selected organisations will benefit from
Arts Council funding and Tate expertise and resources to develop their
ideas and produce a short film. Films will be featured on Tate Online
(http://www.tate.org.uk/) and Arts Council England's website.

Creative production agency Forma successfully applied for the first
round of Art Shorts. Communications Manager, Roisin Stimpson, said:
'We were delighted to be chosen for Art Shorts. It not only gave us a
very valuable piece of media to showcase our forthcoming production
Whispering in the Leaves at Kew Gardens, but also gave us clear
insight into the making of a short documentary. The training was
excellent, and we are confident that we will continue making
documentaries about our programme following this scheme.'

To find out more about Art Shorts and to download submission
guidelines visit the Tate website:

The deadline for submissions is 30 June 2010.

Tate is also running an Art Shorts one-day workshop for arts
organisations interested in film-making practice on 24 May, 11am-6pm.
The workshop is free but places are limited. Find out more and book
