I personally have signed this petition (below) which took less than 30 secs. I hope that may others will support the Lloyds TSB Foundation will be a huge loss to Scottish communities if the Foundation is allowed to disappear.

Save Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland... 

If you’ve not done so already, please add your name to the petition to encourage Lloyds Banking Group to continue its commitment to fund work in Scotland’s poorest communities through the Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland.  The petition aims to gather over 3000 signatures and so far the tally stands at about 2,300.  It’s a fairly complicated story, but in a nutshell, the Bank want to cut by half their commitment to channelling funds to local projects because, they argue, the cake is bigger as a result of their takeover of Halifax Bank of Scotland.  But a covenant established about 25 years ago allowed for a share of 1% of the profits to be used for charitable work, not 0.5%.  Because the Foundation has refused to accept this deal, the Bank has served notice that it will stop the arrangement altogether in nine years’ time. 

 

So, if you want grants to a wide range of work to continue, please don’t sit back, but visit the following website and add your name to the petition – and please encourage as many other people as you can in your church or group to do so.
