Skillset - Film Skills Fund - UK-wide

The Film Skills Fund (FSF) is awarding grants to organisations to
develop, facilitate and deliver film related training and development
activities. UK charities, educational institutions and public service
organisations are all eligible to apply.

Skillset is the Sector Skills Council for Creative Media, and the Film
Skills Fund aims to support training for freelancers and employees in
the UK film industry. The training and education priorities for the
Skillset Film Skills Fund are to:

    * Keep the UK at the forefront of technological development
    * Use trainees, apprentices and new entrants to develop talent in
priority areas
    * Help creative talent produce critically and commercially
successful films to create employment and build reputation
    * Create sustainable and successful businesses
    * To maintain standards of health and safety.

The fund is divided into several funding schemes and programmes
targeting different sections of the workforce and addressing different

First Light Movies: Young Film Fund - UK-wide

First Light offers grants through its Young Film Fund to enable young
people to participate in all aspects of film production. The funding
is available to organisations that work with young people aged between
5 and 19.  Grants are available through three programmes:

    * Studio Grant - up to £30,000 for between two and four films of
up to 10 minutes
    * Script Grant - up to £3,000 for script writing projects that
team young people with script professionals
    * Pilot Grant - up to £5,000 for one short film of up to five
minutes in duration.

The next deadline for all three grants is 5 October 2010, with
decisions announced on 15 November 2010. For more information about
