As runners around the city gear up for the Norwich Half Marathon, a
community radio station presenter has set up his very own endurance
test in the form of a 27-hour show in a bid to raise money for the
station.

Terry Lee, the breakfast presenter on Future Radio, will be on air the
whole time, starting at 7am on Thursday, November 26 and finishing at
10am on Friday, November 27.

That weekend, his colleagues, including station manager Tom Buckham
and presenter Simone Hayes, will be running the City of Norwich Half
Marathon, and are hoping that both events will raise money for Future
Radio, which is part of the Future Project and helps vulnerable
youngsters.

Among the guests already confirmed for the marathon show are a coffee
specialist from Wilkinson's of Norwich, sleep expert Dr Neil Stanley,
live music from local folk artist Jess Morgan, this year's Next Big
Thing winners Console Wars and world-famous shellac spinner DJ78.

Mr Lee said: “Although we won't be breaking any world records with
this broadcast, this is without doubt the biggest challenge I've taken
up in my radio career. I'm looking forward to interacting with
listeners in the early hours, and hope that I am still decipherable on
Friday morning!”

Mr Buckham added: “Terry's marathon broadcast is testament to Future
Radio's commitment to offer something different to radio audiences
across Norwich - with some interesting guests and features lined up it
should make for some memorable output, and will be another example of
Future Radio pushing creative boundaries”.

Future Radio is funded by a number of sources including the NELM
(North Earlham, Larkman and Marlpit) Development Trust.

It is part of the Future Project which was formerly known as NR5 - a
local social inclusion charity which uses the creative arts and media
to help troubled youngsters achieve learning and career goals.
