SKILLSET, the Sector Skills Council for the Audio Visual Industries is
pleased to support the Radio Festival 2007 in Cambridge and is
offering FREE places at Techcon, Radio People and Foot in the Door
events on Monday 9th July.

Places are limited and will be offered on a first come first served
basis so don’t delay and sign up right away by emailing your contact
details and chosen event to Paul Steele at the Community Media
Association – paul.steele at commedia.org.uk.

Details about the events follow:

TECHCON
9 July, 09:15 – 17:15

As the name suggests, Techcon is aimed at the more technical aspects of
the radio industry.  Sessions already confirmed include:
* Explanation of Wifi/Wimax
* DAB+: the new standard for DAB
* Enhancing Radio Services with Data


RADIO PEOPLE
9 July, 13:00 – 17:15

A “Must Attend” for anyone involved in recruiting, training, managing
and educating people in the radio industry.  The event provides:
* fresh perspectives and new ideas for attracting and retaining
good people
* opportunity to share good practice
* greater understanding of the skills requirements of the industry.
* opportunity to input into the final draft of the first ever
industry-wide Radio Skills Strategy.


FOOT IN THE DOOR
9 July, 12:30 – 17:30

Trying to break into the radio industry?

Foot in the Door is your chance to find out what really goes on in the
world of radio... from the people who work in it every day.
Join us for a radio careers event with a difference:
* you get to meet the people who make UK radio happen, doing the
jobs that you want to do.
* Producers, presenters, journalists and backroom staff from
across the industry are ready to talk to you and take your questions
about working in radio and what you need to get your "foot in the door."
