Festival of Community Media 2004 – The Policy Framework for Community Radio

If you are planning to apply for a Community Radio licence, the Festival 
of Community Media 2004 will be an essential part of your research.

Susan Williams from the Office of Communications (Ofcom) and Stuart 
Brand from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) will hold 
a joint session on the policy framework for Community Radio at the 
Festival of Community Media in Sheffield on 15 May 2004.

This session is well timed after the conclusion of two consultations 
that will shape the future of Community Radio in the UK; the DCMS 
consultation on the Draft Community Radio Order and the Ofcom 
consultation on Community Radio Licensing. Susan and Stuart will provide 
feedback on the responses to the consultations and they will offer an 
early preview of the legal framework and licensing process for Community 
Radio.
