That’s sponsorship and advertising – but note it is broadcast income – ie sponsorship that derives directly from the provision of broadcasts, such as programme sponsorship, advert spots etc.   As far as I know, though I stand to be corrected, it doesn’t cover sponsorship of other activities with no mention in broadcasts, for example sponsorship of the station website or grants etc that don’t give rise to commercial credits on air.  As for the Act, it does indeed mention sponsorship income.   Section 262 Community Radio:…(3) An order under this section in relation to a description of services may, in particular, impose prohibitions or limitations on the inclusion of advertisements in services of that description and on the sponsorship of programmes included in the services.…  In fact, the Act rarely mentions advertising without saying “advertising and sponsorship”, not just in the CR section.  Alex  From: cma-l-bounces at mailman.commedia.org.uk [mailto:cma-l-bounces at mailman.commedia.org.uk] On Behalf Of ROBERT TYLER

1.4 We anticipate that our current (third) round of licensing will draw to a close in late spring 2017, and that licensing of small-scale DAB services may not commence before 2018.
