[cma-l] Ofcom - tomorrow

Morning Nigel

Work on SSDAB legislation will continue until Tuesday 2nd May. Parliament
is dissolved on 3rd May and the Private Members Bill will be passed by
Royal Assent at the prorogation ceremony. The Royal Assent has not been
retracted since 1707 when Queen Anne refused it for a Bill for settling the
militia in Scotland.

It is interesting to note that this very 21st century Bill will be passed
via a quaint prorogation ceremony which involves the doffing of velvet caps
and recitations in Norman French.

Any further development work will on the Broadcast (Radio Multiplex
Services) Bill will then have to be suspended until after the General
Election.

Best regards

Bill
