[cma-l] Birmingham and beyond

Thanks Dom,

V much with you on this.

As a sector, we might be cash-strapped but we are awash with talent and
ideas, ideas in action too. The conference and awards showed off these
strengths in abundance.

The key to enabling this amazing sector to thrive is collaboration. In all
our years in the sector the willingness of community broadcasters to share
ideas has always heartened me - the key - and one that we already do our
bit for - is to enable the ideas to travel within the sector. It's also
vital to engage those outside the sector - if our would-be partners don't
know how brilliant we are at doing their job for them why on earth would
they partner up with us... If you've not already seen it,
www.connecttransmit.org.uk is an example of the the sort of thing we'd like
to see more of in this zone.

The CMA is in an ideal position to both undertake such projects and to link
the membership to their results, and Radio Regen is standing by to help
them. So - really looking forward to seeing more of the business plan as
it emerges.

We are so much more than just broadcasters of music and voices - but we
can't optimise the social gain that we produce without that flow of ideas
and best practise....

Bests,

Phil

Please note that I work at Radio Regen under 2 days a week so responses
might not be as quick as we'd like. Many thanks.
