[cma-l] Radio Equipment

As Catie says, as she was involved in the process, we were very careful to put this in writing with the station in question. The equipment in which we specifically retain title was left in their hands to give them the opportunity to raise the money to pay for it. That has not been done and we are recovering our property which has been formally listed and costed and notified to all those who would appear to have an interest and also to Ofcom for information.
We had difficulty before with unpaid equipment at the closure of AfanFM/XS Wales where the Local Authority tried to impose a CIC Asset Lock, but we were able to show that as the equipment had not been paid for in full it was not an asset of the station nor of its operating Company or its Board.

The equipment remains the property of the supplier until the debt is paid in full. That's in UK law and normally stated on any sort of correspondence that has offered or allowed a delay in payment.

We find ourselves in the difficult situation again of trying to help Client stations recover some of their investment when for one reason or another they have ceased operation.
There is an excellent dual-studio format at West Wolds Radio together with its transmission system that is available for sale - and from tomorrow the 3-transmitter network equipment from The Hub in Cornwall.
We have full original manifests for these stations if you would like a copy - subject always to the current owner's consent.
We do not necessarily have title this equipment but on occasions we will take some units back to offset a debt.
Ownership will be made clear to serious enquirers.
All equipment wherever possible is refurbished and tested to new specification and we are available to assist with modification and the new installation if required.
You could well end up with some bargains - together with the satisfaction of knowing that you have helped out a fellow broadcaster.
