This is truly depressing news. As it says they have done fantastic work but we all know there is much more that needs to be done. Hopefully something will rise from the phoenix.

Subject: [cma-l] Sound Women closure

The Community Media Association staff, members, and governing Council are very sad to hear that Sound Women is set to close in 2017<http://www.soundwomen.co.uk/sound-blog/>.

Since 2011 Sound Women has done fantastic work to further the representation of women in radio.

Sound Women will leave a lasting legacy to the UK media world that will be impossible to replicate.

The Community Media Association thanks all who have been associated with Sound Women for their hard work and contribution to the UK radio sector, and wishes them all the best for the future.

Sound Women will surely be missed by everybody involved with radio.
