As a Partner in the company responsible for the comprehensive 3-site transmission system at The Hub - and coincidentally listening to its output yesterday for over 40 miles across its excellent coverage area from Falmouth to Lanivet - can I say that I was impressed by the breadth and quality of its output - and indeed by the number of advertisers it now has.
This is an excellent opportunity for a bright hungry entrepreneur to take this exciting project to the next level.Pete has worked tirelessly on this for over five years and well deserves a good rest!

Subject: [cma-l] Radio Station seeks new Station Manager

Truly Local Radio station searches for a new station manager and more

A unique opportunity has arisen at “The Hub” as the mid Cornwall based, community radio station
seeks a new station manager to oversee day to day operations.
After several years of endless dedication, co-founder and current station manager Pete Appleyard
will be stepping down at the end of April to concentrate on future commitments. The management
team and existing volunteers are now eagerly searching for a like-minded and dedicated professional
to come forward and help manage the station.
The station manager plays a fundamental role in the day-to-day running of the station, overseeing all
on-air activities (including programming) as well as training & volunteer induction. This challenging,
but rewarding role is voluntary and requires a commitment of a minimum of 15 hours a week.
Interested parties should be open to a challenge, have a basic understanding of IT and audio
systems, hold a good understanding of the purpose and format of a community radio station and be
familiar with current Ofcom practices.
Alongside this role, the community project welcomes new volunteers to help support existing roles
including; finance, fundraising, sales and marketing, technical support and presenting.
The directors invite applications for these voluntary positions, from all interested parties. For more
information, please contact hello at thehub106.co.uk or call 01872 438033.
More About The Hub:
The Hub launched in the summer of 2014 and broadcasts 24 hours a day to towns and villages across
mid-Cornwall on 106.1FM, 106.4FM and online. Apart from playing a range of great music, the
station has been working incredibly hard to ensure listeners are kept up to date with local news,
information about community events and exclusive guest interviews.
The station is run entirely, by a group of dedicated volunteers and provides hands on training
opportunities to everyone interested in learning more about the exciting world of radio.
