[cma-l] Looking for partners for the development/testing of a syndication platform for Community Radio Stations (academic project)

[White Market Podcast]

Hello,

My name is Rute Correia - I am currently doing an MA in Radio (Production
and Management) at the University of Sunderland, I am the Head of Music at
community station Spark Sunderland <http://sparksunderland.com/> and I am
the person behind White Market Podcast
<http://www.whitemarketpodcast.co.uk/>, a podcast about free/libre music
(free to download and free of copyright) and free culture.

My final project for the MA is the development/transformation of White
Market Podcast into a syndication platform for Community Radio Stations. On
top of the weekly specialist music show, which is available for download
and can already be played by community stations, I will also be creating
some extra features around related topics, such as digital rights and
activism, alternatives to copyright, public domain work, etc. All episodes
and affiliated production are compliant with Ofcom regulations.

The hourly show is already part of Spark Sunderland’s schedule, playing
Thursdays 9pm. However, I am looking for partner stations to rebroadcast
the podcast and the extra content that will be produced over the next
couple of months, as well as help shape the website in a way that is easier
for community stations to use it. Ultimately, the idea behind the project
is that it can be used as a safe harbour for community stations to get
extra content whenever they need (e.g. if one of your volunteers drops out
from their show at the last minute, etc.).

White Market has a long story behind it, as I have been producing it for
the past eight years. Over the past year, it featured interviews with
people such as Free Music Archive director, Cheyenne Hohman, and MEP Julia

White Market is a volunteer and non-for-profit initiative; it is not
affiliated with any brands, nor with commercial ventures of any kind.

Stations who would like to be involved with the project will be featured on
a blog post and on a permanent page on White Market’s website. They will
also be featured on the final evaluation of the project that I will hand in
to my tutors in October this year. And, of course, they will also have my
eternal gratitude.
