[cma-l] Housing Associations

Somer Valley FM commissioned a proposal on how we and the largest social housing group in the area should work in partnership on a number of levels. This has led to some collaborative working. We continue in negotiations for a full partnership. Potential areas of cooperation are:


1.       As a communications medium to the people they serve.

2.       Commissioned radio programmes and features to address concerns and raise awareness of opportunities and services around social housing.

3.       Work placements and employability training for residents with higher levels of social need. We are part of a local authority initiative combating worklessness.

4.       Mutually hosting apprenticeship and traineeship.

5.       Setting up satellite studios as training and broadcast units linked back to the parent studios.

Hi Everyone,
Does your organisation work with your local housing association?
Perhaps they have come in for an interview, make a regular feature, or have funded a project or some training for their residents?
The CMA is looking into how we can help members form more collaborations with housing associations around the UK.
This may be a slow burning, long term process!
Knowing what is already happening would be hugely helpful.
Could you contact me off list if you have some work like this already going on.
