[cma-l] A good day in Manchester

To all people of great Community loveliness

Can I say a mega thank you to Phil / Cathy / Alison / Dom / Cormack for an
excellent afternoon. Can I also encourage people to go on these get
togethers. They are a learning tool for both novices and veterans. Certainly
as a veteran you will find (as we did) that we just might have taken our eye
off one or two things. We need to do a few minor tweaky tweakies at this
end. If you don't attend these get togethers there is a chance you may
completely miss something and the back wheels might come off your cart.

If you are a newbie, a novice or even thinking about getting stuck into a
Community Radio venture for the first time, this is a fantastic start. Learn
what works, what doesn't work, what will work if done correctly, what will
be a complete horlicks if not done correctly.

There's a nice mini buffet, lots of tea, coffee, fresh orange and biscuits
and then a wonderful Pub on Port Street.

Manchester Piccallino Piccalilly at 11pm of an evening has never looked so
blurred :-) I can highly recommend the Bread and Butter Real Ale.

Good job I didn't go to Port Street before the seminar/training I might even
have started loving PRS/PPL and the cheeky monkeeeees who thought up the
restrictions

Onwards and Upwards

Unfortunately I can't attend the second session because
''WHOA ! I'm going to Barbados with Captain Tobias Wilcox''

Hi all

I just wanted to thank our enthusiastic delegates at yesterday's Community
Radio Skills Session - the first event run by The Community Radio
Foundation. Stations represented included Leyland Radio, Unity FM, Erewash
Sound, Ribble FM, Canalside, Future Radio, Wolverhampton Community Radio and
RadioLAB.

Our thanks also to our trainers Dom Chambers, BECTU's Alison Surtees and
Radio Radio Regen's Cathy Brooks and Cormac Lawler.

As ever with successful workshops it was what the delegates brought to the
room that really made it work - and they seemed to get a lot out of it too.

We'll offer a report soon on The Community Radio Toolkit - and if you're
fast there may be places left on the second session on March 15th. Details

best wishes

Please note that I work at Radio Regen under 2 days a week so responses
might not be as quick as we'd like. Many thanks.
