[Apologies for cross posting]

Dear fellow community radio person

This is a quick briefing on the trainers at the highly affordable
half day Community Radio Skills Sessions that we're holding here in
Manchester on February 24th and March 15th.

There are full details for the February event here -
http://cts.vresp.com/c/?RadioRegen/87a30ebe72/TEST/36f8d2810e

and March here -
http://cts.vresp.com/c/?RadioRegen/87a30ebe72/TEST/178ad016ae .

We have tried to arrange a programme of some of the 'must have'
skills needed to run a community radio station [see links above] but
in order to do that we also need trainers that can do this justice.
This is why we think this team can deliver the brief:

Alison Surtees – Learning Co-ordinator BECTU. Creative Producer and
Trainer with a range of organisations including In Place of War,
Manchester District Music Archive, Future’s Venture and Soup
Collective.

Dom Chambers – Station Manager at the thriving Somer Valley FM in
Somerset. Dom has chaired the Community Media Association, currently
chairs the Radio Academy Affiliate Members Group, and is the Project
Director of The Community Radio Foundation. Dom has visited over
thirty community stations throughout the UK so is very well
researched in successful models of community broadcasting.

Cathy Brooks - Co-Director Radio Regen. Cathy has run the operations
side of the charity since its inception in 1999 and specialises in
creating management systems and writing successful bids to a wide
range of funders. She is also the CMA’s Finance Manager and has
set up finance and monitoring systems for a range of stations.

Cormac Lawler – has been Radio Regen’s project co-ordinator for
three years, delivering projects such as Connect:Transmit and
Employment FM (which look at training in the sector) and the Social
Media Toolkit. These projects have enabled him to work with a wide
range of stations across the UK.

Phil Korbel – Co-Director and founder of Radio Regen (see below).
Phil’s experience runs from presenting RSL breakfast shows in shop
windows to making Radio 4 documentaries, lobbying Cabinet ministers
for community radio licences, and feeding chickens.

We hope that those micro cv's will give you an idea of what to expect
at the Sessions - and why, at £10 [& booking] per event - they're a
bit of a give away. Full details at the links above but do get in
touch if there's more you need to know.

Book soon to avoid disappointment,

best wishes,

Phil
