[cma-l] Antenna installation on council building - help

It's not as easy as that. They have no standard procedure for this type of installation - which is why they are asking for us to provide examples of what other authorities do and what they charge.
They are uncertain and nervous - yes - but have expressed a willingness to help once they have the information they are requesting.
One of the elements is radiation hazard risk to residents and staff - which we already cover in a document of our own.

Ask for one of their standard agreements, preferably in word doc form ad then amend it to your requirements. They will have various protective clauses in. They won’t stand for deleting any of them…BUT make sure that any you need ( notice on rights of entry, consultation before they take any enforcement action etc) are added.
They are probably being awkward because it is an unknown area to them and they are nervous...

Thanks for this. Price isn’t the issue. Hard as it might be to believe, the Estate department for this LA don’t have an agreement suitable - or are using this as a way of derailing the process. They’ve put the onus back on the community station. So the station is asking if anyone has ‘been there, done that’ and has a working agreement in place with their local authority they can share.

Thanks

David,

Not sure what the problem is - if council sites are run by the Estates department who probably only deal with telecoms companies a high rental charge might be your issue? As has been said by other respondents you will need to get the ward councillor involved. If they won't move because of the potential loss of income by letting it cheap I suggest you look for another site or something like a fake flagpole which is grounded and hence not stuck on the fabric of the building!

Does anyone have a boilerplate agreement they have used with a local authority. I’ve had a call from a group whose council has allowed them to site their antenna on a council-owned building. But the officers tasked with making it happen - are making it difficult for them. Does anyone have a simple agreement you have used either with a local authority or similar organisation. Much appreciated.

Thanks,

David
