[cma-l] Review of the approach to community radio Key Commitments

Sadly the Amended Act requires Key Commitments as part of the licence award. (An interesting side issue is whether Ofcom change their scoring system).

In my view, some groups/stations do sell cars and there are some that should. Nevertheless this the whole point of community radio (and I think seriously misunderstood by Ofcom), is that it is not all the same. Many organisations are almost extensions of Social Services, the DWP and the NHS. Some are not.

The hideously short consultation is intended to give the broadcaster the responsibility to vary its Key Commitments, within its own defined boundaries as circumstances change or evolve.
