Good afternoon!



I wanted to get in touch about the Epic Awards. We are working with
Voluntary Arts – nationwide body with offices across the UK who champion
and support voluntary creative activity. There are now over 10million UK
adults involved in an amateur creative activity and over 60,000 groups!


The Epic Awards is an annual moment to champion these volunteer run groups
the result of which for them is more media exposure, better future
partnership offers, more funding opportunities in the future and more
people attending their groups and events as well as an award, dinner and
prizes.



The timeline is:


   - Nominations close on 7 December.
   - Shortlist in February – there is also a People’s Choice award so the
   public can vote.
   - Awards on 2 April (Get Creative Day) in Cardiff.

This is an opportunity for every area of the UK and we have winners from
last year who are from across the country. The group that won the People’s
Choice award was Knitted Knockers who went on to appear on BBC Breakfast
the next day. I am just catching up with their story one year on. You can

It would be amazing if you could help us spread the word about it.  We need
people to nominate their groups before 7 Dec. Then we could celebrate
stories in the most appropriate regions through the shortlist period and
get people voting…



I got a note that the office in England has already been in touch regarding
this. Would be great if you could possibly share this with local Scottish
community radio stations or share a list of such (if you have it?) for us
to get in touch?
