Happy Christmas Ian!

Not at all worried about using the word Christmas - just mindlful that not everybody celebrates that event, that's all.

And a Happy New Year to you too!

All the best

That's very kind - thank you - but isn't it still "Christmas and the New Year" here in the UK?
Do you know anyone (apart from the Coca-Cola ad and the odd US Citizen) who actually says "Happy Holidays?
I don't think we've yet become the 51st State of the Union - thank goodness.
Are you really that worried about offending someone by using the word "Christmas"?

Wishing all our members, supporters, and colleagues all the best for the festive season and a prosperous New Year. Thank you for all your support, hard work and good wishes over this past year. We have already seen the first of the 10 year anniversaries for community radio stations and there will be many more in the months to come. And, indeed, the Community Radio Amendment Order 2015 kept us all on our toes as it was ratified in literally the fading hours of the last Parliament.

2016 looks to be an exciting year for community media and we are planning a specific event around local and community television - "watch this space" is all that can be said at this stage. There are at least two regional community radio events scheduled that the CMA will be supporting and we also have our main Conference in September. Still looking forward, there is bound to be lots of news about small-scale DAB broadcasting, and BBC Charter renewal next year is also going to keep us all "informed, educated, and entertained".
The CMA office will be closed over the holiday period but the community media elves are always on hand if you need any help, advice, or a shoulder to cry on if the festivities get too much. Please keep contributing to the CMA-L mailing list - the "AM v FM" thread<http://mailman.commedia.org.uk/pipermail/cma-l/2015-December/007407.html> has been an education!

The office voicemail will be checked regularly - 0114 279 5219 - and any Internet radio enquiries can be emailed to Canstream at tech at canstream.co.uk<mailto:tech at canstream.co.uk> or we have the out of office hours phone number: 0844 357 0442.

Again, wishing everyone a wonderful break and every success for the New Year.
