I thought it might be useful to have some facts in support of the current discussions. These are abstracted from our own condensed version of Ofcom's published TXParams data and are accurate and up-to-date to the best of my knowledge:
Total CR Licences issued = 253Total CR transmitters licensed = 267Number of stations currently on air = 217 (86%)Licensed but not yet launched = 10Licence issued but did not launch = 10Launched but have ceased for any reason = 16Total stations on AM = 7AM stations with "standard" maximum 70W EMRP = 2AM stations with more than 70W EMRP = 2AM stations with less than 70W EMRP = 3Total stations on FM = 210FM stations using "standard" 25 + 25W ERP = 172 (82%)FM stations using more than 25 + 25W = 34 (16%)FM stations using less than 25 + 25W = 4 (2%)FM stations using 25W vertical only = 152 (72%)FM stations using balanced mixed polarity = 37 (18%)FM stations licensed for but not using mixed polarity = 157 (75%)FM stations licensed for four transmitters = 1FM stations licensed for three transmitters = 3FM stations licensed for two transmitters = 4FM stations licensed for one transmitter = 245
