re.Lit Live! – Monday 1st September 2014, 8-10pm (UK time) at
www.radiowildfire.com
It’s the time of year to be gathering in the fruit of the fields and
this month there’s a harvest home on Radio Wildfire as we bring together
another bumper crop of the best in field recordings from the Midlands
and the World – more rich pickings from the UK, US and Canada with brand
new uploads and some well preserved tracks from the Radio Wildfire archive.
Uploaded this month we’ve a very different offering from HCTurk, having
had an excellent story last month, the haunting harmonies of House of
Strangers – also amongst the new submissions we’ve excellent new poetry
tracks from Saskia van Tetering in Toronto, with music recorded by
Michael Oesch.
Join us for a walk into the uneasy land tilled by Jason Potter, an
artist working in words, sound and visuals, featuring tracks from his
latest cd, Between Heaven and Hell.
We’ll be reaping the laughter with an excellent short play from the
Bunbury Banter Theatre Company, where Simon Temple explores the comedic
possibilities of disfunctional dissidents (and there are many) in Slow
Boat to Freedom.
And with this year’s Birmingham Literature Festival on the horizon,
we’ll be giving an airing to a recording we made at a previous festival
of Stuart Maconie talking to Tom Priestley about his father the writer
J.B.Priestley, which contains some intriguing family insights into the
life of the man beloved of so many.
