*Half Memory* has been short-listed for the 2014 Museums & Heritage
Innovations Award, alongside high-profile projects from The British Museum,
Design Museum and the V&A.

*Half Memory* was a week-long radio broadcast on
basic.fm<http://www.basic.fm/>,
Pixel Palace's online radio project, and a live performance at Newcastle's
Tyneside Cinema featuring musicians Warm Digits and Richard Dawson. It
was presented by Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums in association with Tusk
Music and Pixel Palace between January - April 2013.

The musicians explored the collections of records in Tyne & Wear Archives
as well as photographs held in the collection of Sunderland Museum & Winter
Gardens. Warm Digits took inspiration from line drawings and plans from a
1970s civic engineering project while Richard Dawson used photographs,
letters, newspaper cuttings and illustrations from the museum and archive
collections.

>From their research for *Half Memory*, Warm Digits produced *INTERCHANGE*,
an experimental film and album of music, and Richard Dawson created *The
Glass Trunk*, an album is a collection of six unaccompanied songs.

The winners of the Museums & Heritage Awards for Excellence 2014 will be
announced on Wednesday 14 May, and you can see the full list of nominations
