[cma-l] Ofcom terms for Channel 4 licence

I noticed this phrase in the message below from Ofcom:

 

"..... licence obligations, which are designed to provide benefits for TV viewers across the UK while being sustainable for the broadcaster ....."


It's real pity that the last part of that wording is not incoroprated into Community Radio legislation.

Ofcom today announced that Channel 4’s licence would be renewed for a 10-year period.
 
Ofcom has also confirmed Channel 4’s licence obligations, which are designed to provide benefits for TV viewers across the UK while being sustainable for the broadcaster over the new licence period from January 2015.
Ofcom  has decided that Channel 4’s quota for programming produced outside of England (in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland combined) should triple from its current level of 3 per cent of money spent and hours broadcast to 9 per cent from 2020. 
 
Ofcom concluded that Channel 4’s other licence conditions remain appropriate to the broadcaster’s statutory obligations and these will therefore remain unchanged.

Mae Ofcom wedi penderfynu y dylai cwota Channel 4 ar gyfer rhaglenni wedi’u cynhyrchu y tu allan i Loegr (yng Nghymru, yr Alban a Gogledd Iwerddon gyda’i gilydd) dreblu o’r lefel bresennol o 3 y cant o’r arian a warir a’r oriau darlledu i 9 y cant o 2020 ymlaen. 
 
Penderfynodd Ofcom fod amodau eraill trwydded Channel 4 yn dal i fod yn briodol i ymrwymiadau statudol y darlledwr, felly ni fydd y rhain yn newid.
