Hi AlexTalk about the ingenuity of the Scots! What a brilliant idea. But for the less rurally-minded we think this unit could be very well received.I trust life is going well for you and the station(s)?Did you get the relay transmitters into place?Ian

For a station that has an easily dug little
garden outside (as we do), passing ventilation air through a snake of 50mm
conduit buried in the garden is a very cheap way of reducing air temp to around
12C (depending on where you are)!

Also often though about experimenting with putting
peltier junctions on a ventilation vox as a way of silent cooling, but they take
a fair bit of power and the cooling for the hot side still has to be done
silently.

Alex

I've just had an interesting meeting with an Air Conditioning
company that is developing budget silent systems which will be ideal for a
  radio studio.
This isn't a sales pitch - because at the moment there isn't anything to
sell - but as AC in studios and Racks is essential nowadays rather than a
luxury, I felt it is worth pursuing.
We're running an RSL at the moment for an important event in two
Portakabins and it's clear that AC would be a huge advantage - even with a
nice river breeze and shelter from some nice large plane trees.
