we're making a community TV special this very evening. Recently my University helped me set up a social enterprise - East Cleveland Online. This evening we are recording the very first episode in what will be a series of community TV specials http://ecol.org.uk/community-tv-launch/

Other aspects of ECOL also revolve very much around Community Media including a planned online radio network and a network of citizen reporters producing articles for the local community newspaper.

As United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon says "Through quality programming, television sheds light on global issues and opens windows of understanding on the struggles and hopes of communities and families everywhere."
By now we have all realized that the digital age has just meant more and better TV, through new means, with new interactive experiences, reaching more and more people and, hopefully, contributing to a more informed and enjoyable life for all of us.
