Grateful thanks to Jaqui and the CMA for organising the Ofcom DAB Presentation on Tuesday and for the copy of the report on the Brighton trial:

I was able to make the meeting and found it very informative, but it was noticeable that the people from Ofcom and the CMA together outnumbered the rest of us.

I think I counted representatives of four the currently-licensed 215 CR stations, of which I would think about 120 are within an easy train ride of London.

I wonder whether the small attendance was due to the level of promotion - we have here e-mail addresses for all the current CR stations - or time of year, location, or simply lack of interest?

Do we know how many CR operators would like to be on DAB if it were commercially and legally possible?

Looking at the technical and legislational hurdles that need to be overcome, I have my doubts that this will be a feasible proposition this side of Christmas.

2017.

As I said in another recent posting - I wonder how many more CR projects will have fallen by the wayside in the meantime.
