[cma-l] Audio crackling

Greetings Peter,

I saw you mention multicast on another thread here. As I understand it,
this involves sending a stream to the network routers where it is split
into client (listener) streams. Unfortunately it depends on the network
operators to implement it and I don't think the majors are about to.
Ubuntu Linux has some sort of built-in logging system which is
apparently needed to identify customers, so if you can find a network
operator who has the system, it is potentially available.

Re the crackling, I don't know if you are running a server as well on
this pc but the old kit we had used to bleep if it was hot not crackle!

Seriously, if a reboot solves it I would check out the software for the
processor loading and memory usage, in geek-talk a memory leak for
example which is time-dependent.
