More than 350 radio stations / radio programs participated in one of
the editions of this annual event which was launched back in 2006 and
last year had 150 radio participants from 50 countries worldwide. It
is throughout Radio1812 that we have the great opportunity to work
with radios from all over the world to produce, broadcast and share
programmes with the common goal to give a voice to migrants, raise
awareness about their concerns as well as their achievements.

Radio1812 brings together participants from all continents:
national-level radio stations, international broadcasters as well as
community-based initiatives and civil society organizations. The
Radio1812 team will gather the audio material as it is broadcast or
made available by the participating radio stations and put it on our
special website where visitors will be able to listen or download the
programmes for re-broadcasting.

Over the coming weeks we will release more information on the new
features of this year’s edition and launch a number of short audio
programmes (linked to the upcoming Global Forum on Migration and
Development and parallel civil society events). This year, the GFMD
will take place in Geneva.

The UN International Migrants Day tales place on 18th December each year:
