[cma-l] Interesting developments north of the border

You'll probably all be aware of last Thursday's results in the Scottish 
Parliamentary Elections which led to an overall majority for the 
Scottish National Party.

On page 28 of the SNP's 2011 manifesto, on the 'Communities' page, is 
the following commitment;  "And, we will also encourage the expansion of 
community radio in Scotland."

I welcome the Scottish Government's recognition of the valuable role 
that Community Radio plays in Scotland and the commitment they have made 
to supporting the development of the sector.

The Scottish Community Broadcast Network (SCBN), which has adopted the 
ethos of the CMA's Community Media Charter, will play a key role in 
ensuring that this election pledge is met in the coming years.

Interesting times ahead for the sector in Scotland.
