Agreed
.. that is exactly the point that I was trying to make, but as
usual I went through the woods, over the dales and round the trees.

Yes considering IRN (only thing barely comparable) is only a few hundred
pounds..
Suppose the biggest question is how much extra work is there for them to
do.. or is it just filtering their current content? (In which case they have
completely priced them out of the market)

How do you spell hipertheticly ??? hipothetically ??? hip hippo
hyp er hippopotamus ??? hyperactive !
anyway, never mind, you catch my drift Im afraid that the only
level I left school with was a spirit level !
If all the stations that are broadcasting ping them a grand each
thats one hell of a lot of lolly !!
Im just thinking that when theyre sat in a little beach hut on the
Maldives with their computers doing the travel reports sipping an ice cool G
and T therell be one hell of a toast from the top table to community
radio
Cheers easy
.
Then again, I may have missed something ?? £1000
pounds ------------- is someone havin a giraffe !?? How do you go
from zero to a thousand in one fell swoop ? a rather bad sales
pitch me thinks?
LOL

Nick

I am shocked by that.. and I am troubled if thats how much it cost the prior
sponsor (which I optimistically doubt)!
Cant remember whats on the MOU but is local travel covered by that as well?

We dont use it anyway even though we have all the logins !
my
original suspicions appear as if they have come to pass
it was a
little tickle --- a kind of sprat to catch a mackerel.
Im surprised the chopper didnt fall a months ago to be honest, weve done
well to get to August.
I think what people are failing to grasp is that some Stations dont even
have £1000
. they run on goodwill and a few quid here and there
others are as poor as church mice and dont have two half-pennies to scratch
their backsides with.
So, thanks for the offer, but we wont be able to take it up Im afraid.

Dear Nick,
We have unfortunately been notified by the Highways Agency that the funding
to provide Traffic Radio audio and Trafficlinks Regis data service to
members of the Community Media Association will cease on 31st August.
While both Global Traffic Network and Trafficlink will work with the CMA to
seek alternative funding for a similar service in future, in this difficult
financial climate we have not been able to secure any suitable deal to date.
Please therefore take this email as notice that your current travel news
contract with Global Traffic Network will terminate on 31st August 2011.
GTNs Network Drive Light service remains open to ALL community radio
stations, at a substantial discount to the commercial fee. This offers
Trafficlinks Regis data service of road and public transport information,
tailored to your area, for £1,000 per annum per station. Should you wish to
join Network Drive Light from 1st September, please contact me as soon as
possible to ensure continuity of service.
Kind regards
Clare
