Ambition AXA Awards Open To Entries (UK)

Insurance company AXA has announced the launch of the Ambition AXA 
Awards. The Ambition AXA awards aim to search for and support the UK’s 
most gifted and driven young people between the ages of 11 and 18 years 
of age to help them achieve their ambition.  The awards have five 
different categories, these are: Sport; Enterprise; the Arts; Science; 
and Community.  The winner of each category will receive a bespoke 
programme of mentoring and support worth up to £40,000.  The deadline 
for entries is 14th October 2011.

Funding To Support Poetry and Literature Initiatives (UK)

The Clore Duffield Foundation has launched a new £1 million programme to 
fund poetry and literature initiatives for children and young people 
across the UK.  The programme is due to run from 2011 to 2015 with two 
funding rounds a year.  The programme is open to schools, FE colleges, 
community groups, libraries and other arts/cultural organisations. 
Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 are available to support 
participatory learning projects and programmes focused on literature, 
poetry and creative writing for under 19s.
