Hey Stevie boy !                     at least it confirms they’re getting
through. And guess what, these e-mails take me no time at all 

.. I punch
them out whilst having my brew. One thing I have learnt over the past 7
years is how to type extremely FAST 

.. and I mean MEGA FAST

trouble is, I’m 51 and it’s all done with one finger !            DOH !

With reference to grinding down 

 nobody has ever ground me down

As I have said, all the nonsense does is grind me up 
..          it is an
injustice, unfair and nobody (commercial radio) is going to bully us around
!

So as I have said we soldier on 

 no one is ground down     trust me !
anything but.

youngsters walk through our door, the socilally excluded lad who is with us
has been in trouble constantly with the Police since he was 8 

 they can’t
believe it 
.. he hasn’t done anything wrong for 5 months coz’ he loves it
here. He’s got belief, feels good about himself, and I’ve given him tasks to
do and goals to achieve 

.. without community radio, this guy would only be
heading one way. We ain’t going anywhere 

.. like I have said        we
have a job to do 

. We’re like the lager, reaching parts that all the
others can’t. Onwards and upwards

1) Our Council have given us a bit of funding, nothing to brilliant but

 the press
office have sent us this and by rights we do have a duty to promote it for
the next two weeks 

 it has arrived a bit late though ???   dunno’ your
thoughts on this ??

2) We all chin wagged about this three weeks ago after the dipstick at the
DCMS decided to insult the Community Radio brotherhood yet again by stating
that his budget was spent 

. (private sector n’ all) and that there was
nothing left for Old Mother Hubbard (US)    and the cupboard was bare 

but, it didn’t matter coz’ we are a free ride and we do everything for free
!                          ER         NOPE !                  not anymore
mate !

So 

 my questions to everyone are as follows :-

a)      Would we be promoting this for the Council or for the Government?

b)      Would we be promoting it for both?

c)       Have the Council received funding from the Government?

d)      When the Council send the press release to the Commercial station
will the Government pay them?   have they already paid them?  and will they
now get paid again from the advertising budget of the Council?      In
otherwords I think they’ll get paid TWICE !

e)      Possibly they haven’t done this deliberately (mainly because half of
them ain’t intelligent enough anyway)   but nevertheless they have stumbled
on a way to get the Community Radio stations to do this once again    for
NOWT’

f)       What do we do now ?                    ‘’DISCUSS’’ ‘’PLEASE’’

I know what we shall be doing

Final question is as a group / a collective member group, is someone ??
from head office going to ASK THE QUESTION and make a point on our behalf ?

I would though much prefer it to be co-ordinated with one voice, calm,
chilled and from HQ 

. If no one is going to this 
. I’ll go it alone

. We’ve got nothing to lose.

The event three weeks ago where some clown pointed out that we do everything
for nowt 

.. has clearly not got the message 

.. he needs that message
writing out on a piece of Community Radio Headed Notepaper and then stapling
to his forehead 

.. and not with one that you’d by from WH Smiths or
Staples 

.. more like the ones you’d get at B & Q.

Point made                          when is this shambles going to end?

I accept that if people do not want to spend their money with us 

that’s
fine 

.. we need to find out why not ?   and we need to stop doing things
for free !

But, if the Government wishes to do give each station £80,000 per-year 

..
we have NO advertising to do and with their money we provide the Big Society
and a Community message service refereed by Ofcom and we do everything for
FREE, then bring it on. I accept, get real, life isn’t like that 
. But it
also isn’t a free-ride for everyone else either.

The census is coming

The census is just weeks away and now – for the first time – everyone in
Cheshire East can fill it in online. 

The census, which collects information about the population, takes place
every 10 years. This year, it will take place on Sunday, March 27. 

Liam O’Connor, Cheshire East area manager for the 2011 Census, said: “In
2011, for the first time in its 210 year history – everyone can go online to
complete their census in just a few clicks. It’s safe, secure and completely
confidential. 

“The traditional paper method of completing the census is also available. 

“The information received from the census goes towards the planning and
funding of future local services, such as schools, hospitals, roads and
emergency services. 

“The census will arrive, in the post, in March – those who wish to fill
theirs in online simply have to key-in a code, which will be on the front
page of their paper form.”

Filling in a census is a legal requirement for everyone living in the UK –
not filling one in can result in a fine.

The census takes, on average, 10 minutes per person to complete and less
online, with most questions completed by simply clicking or ticking a box.

There is help available to those who have a visual or hearing impairment or
whose first language is not English. There is also a large-print format of
the census.

Cheshire East Councillor David Brown, Cabinet member with responsibility for
performance and capacity, said: “The census is vital in order to establish
the current population, potential growth and, for this authority, identify
what services we may need to provide in the future. This is about working
together to improve community life.

“This year’s census will be a milestone in its history – the very first time
everyone, young and old, can get onto the internet and fill in their Census
at their own convenience.” 

Cheshire East Council Chief Executive Erika Wenzel added: “Lots of hard work
has gone into ensuring this year’s census runs as smoothly as possible here
in Cheshire East. Local people are involved too – approximately 200,
temporary jobs have been created by the census. Plus, the results of the
census will impact directly on what grants we receive from the government.
This will, in turn, allow us to provide essential services to benefit the
community for many years to come.”

Frequently asked questions 

Who is responsible for the census?  

The Office of National Statistics (ONS). 

Why is the census taking place on the March 27? 

Ideally, everyone should complete their census on this date. However, if
this is not possible, residents are asked to remember where they were or
where they will be on this date and fill in their census accordingly. The
idea is to get an exact ‘snapshot’ of the population on that day.

When should it be completed? 

Residents should return their completed questionnaire, either by post or
online, before the April 6, 2011. 

What happens if it is not completed? 

Those who do not complete their form, by April 6, will be contacted by one
of the census team and asked to complete it. The census team will offer help
and support. Not completing a census questionnaire can result in a fine of
up to £1,000.

Is the census questionnaire secure?

All census information, whether online or on paper, is securely protected.
Personal census information is kept confidential for 100 years
