Hi all,

The Radio Industry Diversity Group wants to ensure you're all aware of a
major radio industry diversity event next month called Move on Up at the
Radio Festival. It's been set up to assist black and minority ethnic radio
workers to "move on up" in the radio industry - if you've seen the
statistics you'll know that BME workers are underrepresented in the radio
industry.

The purpose of Move on Up at the Radio Festival is to organise one to one
meetings between BME radio people and industry executives, enabling the BME
radio workers to make contacts and hear about opportunities they may not
have come across before. An amazing line-up of executives from the BBC and
commercial radio have agreed to attend. You can download the brochure and
emailable application form from www.bectu.org.uk

The deadline has just passed but there are still some places available so
we'd really appreciate it if you could all pass this on to anyone you think
would be interested in attending, letting them know they need to get their
application in ASAP. It's an opportunity not to be missed.
It takes place at the Lowry in Salford on 20th October but it's an afternoon
event so people not in the northwest can get there and back in a day.

Any queries, phone Teresa Debrou at BECTU on 020 7346 0900, email
moveonup at bectu.org.uk.

Thanks and regards,

Janice Turner
Secretary
Radio Industry Diversity Group
